It is everything I would have wanted in my house and it was everything they wanted in theirs. An oversized laundry room! And the best part, it's a room with a view. Looking out over hills of vineyards as your folding clothes is not too shabby. We wanted to create a chic, vintage-style farmhouse feel throughout the home and this room did not disappoint. With a rustic nod, we kept the space light and bright to emulate fresh air as if we were bringing the outdoors in. And our clients were so fun! They were completely hands on, adding salvaged pieces from their farm to incorporate wherever we could cleverly appoint them.
This laundry room is large enough to accommodate their family of six, and honestly, this laundry room is not only ultra-satisfactory for a family of six … it would suit a queen! It is multi-functional as a mud room with storage and seating, a craft area with table and supplies, it has a gorgeous apron sink and of course room to do laundry for days! And about that craft table, this darling custom painted furniture along with the glamorous rustic chandelier brought in the chic design we promised them.
Because our homeowner spends a lot of time in this space … we purposely positioned the sink under an extra-large window looking out to her yard where the kiddos play. And, the corrugated metal wall treatment is an actual recycled and repurposed piece from one of their dairy barns ... making this space moo-velus!!
What Did We Like Most
The ability to breathe easy with the extra square footage made us giddy! This floorplan design makes the daily routines in this utility space, effortless.
