Interior Design Trends, Challenges, & Wins: Reflecting on 2024
The life of an interior designer is a delicate balance of creativity, logistics, and sheer determination. Each year unfolds with new trends, exciting projects, and unexpected challenges that test not only our skills but also our passion for creating spaces that transform lives. As we close another incredible year, here’s a glimpse into the journey—our challenges, the trends that shaped our work, and the accomplishments that remind us why we do what we do.
The Daily Grind of Inspiration & Precision
For many, interior design seems like a glamorous job—choosing beautiful fabrics, playing with colors, and imagining dreamy spaces. While that is a part of it, the reality often looks like this:
Coordinating
with contractors and suppliers.
Troubleshooting
unexpected on-site issues (like plumbing or electrical surprises).
Managing
tight deadlines and budgets while staying true to the creative vision.
Juggling
client expectations with practical realities.
This year was no exception. One of our most challenging projects involved a historic home renovation. Preserving the original charm while updating the space to modern standards was a balancing act. Working within older structural constraints often led to last-minute adjustments, but the final result—a harmonious blend of old and new—was worth every sleepless night.

well worth the investment
I was stuck on a layout for the living room, kitchen, dining room and another family room remodel. How could I best use this space for our large family? I shared what our challenges were, what I dreamed of it being and Tanna helped us get that on paper. She walked us through the process with the architect. As we continue to move through this remodel, I plan to hire Tanna to continue to assist in making our remodel come to life. I would definitely recommend you taking the time to talk with her, well worth the investment.

extremely easy
Working with Tanna made the process of remodeling our home extremely easy. The way she organized the process was helpful to reduce stress and made decision making so easy. She has a gift of visual clarity that I didn't have. I depended on her for 90% of the purchases and design elements, thus allowing me not to worry I didn't make the right decision. She was there all along the 6 month process. Getting cabinets ordered, flooring, countertops, tile etc. picked out and ordered made the project go smoothly. There wasn't an issue with any of the vendors we used. Highly recommend her to anyone. You will not be disappointed.
