With deep roots in the Farmhouse Style aesthetic, when I was approached with a 1940’s Mid Century Modern project you might have thought it would be out of my wheel-house? No?
Welp, I might have too if it weren’t for a couple of common threads that support all that I do.
First is the TBD Technique. The PROCESS.
White glove service, everything in its place, no worries, no hassle is what I stand for and runs through my virtual design team members and the trusted list of trade partners I work with. No matter the scale or style.
Second is my affinity for nature.
I have always been intrigued by simplicity and natural shapes. You will notice my designs are emphasized by ample windows, an open floor plan and the idea of bringing the outdoors in. Which perfectly translates into my go-to Farmhouse Style and seamlessly crosses over to the Mid Century Modern look.
As we prepared for this project we visited our favorite FIVE ELEMENTS that you will see in every TANNA BY DESIGN project; wood, metal, stone, glass and greenery! Examples might be wood beams, metal case goods, stone accent pieces, glass pendants and leafy, lIve greens. These nature inspired ‘elements’ will create an organic home for any style. And, pulling this natural vibe in the home is what makes our designs come alive!!!
By following our trusted, easy-to-understand, straightforward and user-friendly interior design process plus staying true to our relaxed and casual aesthetic, the result was set for success. We created the most gorgeous Mid Century Modern Living Space that boasts all the features that make our TBD Designs so livable! Incorporating a hint of vintage and a nod to the Pacific Northwest Rustic, this space is like no other and truly compliments the architecture of the home's era.
In the end, we believe that the Mid Century Modern and Farmhouse Style do have something in common. That commonality is centered around the use of natural, functional pieces and mixing these materials to create a unique space. Plus, the fusion of indoor and outdoor within the Mid Century Modern world is the jumping off point for all of our Modern Farmhouse designs. Perhaps we coin this project as ‘Mid Mod Farmhouse!'
