Hello and welcome. I’m Tanna Edler, founder, owner, and principal designer of TANNA BY DESIGN®, a full-service residential interior design studio serving homeowners throughout the Tri-Cities, Washington, including Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco.
For more than fifteen years, I have helped homeowners create elevated, highly livable interiors that feel effortless, intentional, and aligned with the way they truly want to live.
Today, my work is intentionally specialized. I collaborate exclusively with a semi-custom home builder within the Tri-Cities design-build market, guiding homeowners through the interior design process for new construction homes from the earliest planning stages through completion. By working alongside the builder from day one, architecture, materials, layout, and interior design evolve together as one cohesive vision, preventing costly mistakes while creating homes that feel thoughtfully resolved and deeply personal.
My philosophy is simple: Live Easy.
I believe everyone wants to elevate their everyday life by making it easy. I believe there is a link between ease and happiness. And, I believe a well-designed home makes us happier.
Within the builder-designer partnership, my role is to bring clarity and confidence to what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming building process. Rather than presenting endless options, I curate selections strategically aligned with each home’s aesthetic, priorities, and investment level. This structured approach helps clients make confident decisions while ensuring every detail supports both the design vision and the realities of construction.
The result is a home that not only looks beautiful but functions beautifully for the people who live in it.
Before launching TANNA BY DESIGN® in 2011, I spent more than a decade in corporate human resources after graduating from Washington State University. My experience as a trainer and coach built the communication, organization, and client-guidance skills that now shape how I lead homeowners through the many decisions involved in building a new home.
As an award-winning interior designer, my work has been published and featured in more than 20 national and regional publications and platforms, including Better Homes & Gardens, GRAY Magazine, Amazon, Redfin, Chairish, LuAnn Nigara, and Yakima Magazine, recognizing a design approach centered on elevated yet livable interiors.
I am honored to be the only interior designer in Central Washington, and in Washington State, to receive the Interior Design Society (IDS) Designer of the Year Award nineteen times, as well as the first designer in the Pacific Northwest to receive the prestigious IDS Impact Award, recognizing meaningful charitable design contributions within the community.
For more than a decade, I have also contributed as an interior design writer for Bellingham Alive Magazine and its affiliated publications, sharing professional insights on creating thoughtful, functional homes.
Active membership in the National Interior Design Society and the National Kitchen & Bath Association, combined with long-standing vendor partnerships, provides access to an extensive network of materials, products, and resources, allowing every project to feel tailored, cohesive, and highly considered.
